Plumbing Tools for Industrial Applications
Plumbing Tools
include all the tools used to install and repair plumbing
systems in a modern residential, commercial or industrial facility. This
includes all installation tools such as pipe wrenches, benders, cutters,
pipe threading tools for pipe installation, soldering and joining tools,
testing, cleaning and measuring tools. A plumbing system begins with a
system of piping that carries water into a building and wastewater out
of a building. There are fittings to join the pipe and all the fixtures
that the pipe is connected to via drains. Evidence of systems for disposal
of human waste have been found in dwellings as old as 10,000 years. Waste
disposal and running water were fairly common in the castles of royalty
and priests as early as the time of the Indus Valley civilization (2500
to 1700 BC). The Romans perfected many of the plumbing technologies that
we still use today and by the end of the 19th century plumbing was legally
required in every building - even those of the low classes.

In
the modern buildings of today, basic modern plumbing fixtures include
toilets, urinals, sinks, bathtubs, showers, laundry tubs, and drinking
fountains. Hospitals, laboratories, and industrial buildings require their
own unique fixtures. Appliances that are connected to a plumbing system
include dishwashers and laundry washers. Most of these fixtures and appliances
require both hot and cold water. Hot water can be generated by heaters
using gas, electricity, boiler water, oil, steam, or solar energy. Visit
Irving's Plumbing Supplies for a wide assortment of plumbing tools
and supplies at great prices. They carry a unique collection of plumbing
tools that should be able to meet the demands of all modern sanitary,
heating and plumbing technologies. From installation tools like pipe wrenches,

Drainage systems are of two basic types: sanitary and storm
water. Sanitary drainage systems carry bodily and other wastes
from the plumbing fixtures and appliances by gravity through a sewer to
a sewage treatment facility outside the building. Sanitary drainage piping
inside the building must be linked to a system of vent piping, to keep
the pressures in all sections of the drainage piping equal. This prevents
the siphoning or blowing of water in the traps (U-shaped dips in the piping),
which in turn prevents the harmful sewer gases, which form as sewage material
decomposes, from entering the building. Storm-water drainage systems carry
rainwater from the roof by gravity through a sewer to a body of water
or to a dry well (an area of the ground where wastewater can drain into
the surrounding soil). Basement drainage usually needs to be collected
in a sealed and vented pit or tank and pumped out of the basement. Hospitals
and laboratories often require additional special drainage systems for
removal of acid waste, radioactive waste, and infectious waste.
Pipe
Wrenches and Pliers: Tools That Grab, Turn and Hold.
Choosing the right wrench for a project is more than matching sizes. Using
the right style of wrench makes any project easier. There are several
types of wrenches including pipe wrenches for holding and turning metal
pipes and fittings, chain and strap wrenches for turning odd shaped plastic
pipe that you don't want to scratch or crush. There are also plumbing
pliers such as the machined grooved joint and box joint pliers that are
extremely useful for grabbing things that are hard to reach and different
to turn. Basin wrenches are very popular for loosening and tightening
nuts in awkward positions, particularly those underneath basins and baths
or on taps and faucets. Check out the
