Industrial Heaters
Industrial Heaters for an industrial
or commercial environment include any portable and free standing device
used to generate heat in a building or within a set area, space or location.
These units can be powered by natural gas, electricity, kerosene, diesel
or gasoline and are typically used as sources of temporary heat. Some
of the more popular brands include Mr. Heater, the Big Buddy Heater, Marvin
Heaters, Pro Com and Fahrenheat. These heaters offer safe and efficient
temporary heat for construction sites, agricultural buildings, industrial
workspaces, barns, sheds, garages, factories, stores, warehouses, public
buildings, service stations, workshops and large or exposed areas outside
with very little insulation or protection from the cold.

Selecting Industrial Heaters
Power Source: choosing the right heater starts with deciding on what
kind of fuel or power source you are going to use or that is available
in your situation. There are two kinds of space heaters based on their
power source: electric and gas heaters. Electric heaters provide quick
heat from compact, efficient and portable units. Propane, diesel, kerosene
and natural gas heaters provide fast reliable heating for job sites, workshops
and homes. All gas heaters offer a level of portability that electric
heaters cannot. The large fuel tanks on some kerosene heaters makes them
ideal for heating loading docks, warehouses and other large areas. The
wood stove is still a popular alternative to the electric or propane/natural
gas heaters. They provide the efficiency and added luxury of burning wood
while cutting heating costs.
Heating Method: Radiation is the only form of heat transfer that
can occur in the absence of any form of medium or solid. Radiant heat
is a direct result of the movements of atoms and molecules in a material.
Radiant heaters heat objects rather than the surrounding air. If you are
trying to heat a room that is not properly sealed or insulated, your best
bet is a radiant heater. They usually have glowing electric elements with
reflectors to radiate heat directly onto you. They provide quick directional
heat to a small area of a room and also provide some convection heat.
Convection heat is heat that is transferred from one object to another
using moving air or water. Convection heaters heat the surrounding air.
A fan heater is a convection heater. If the area you plan to heat is properly
sealed and is well insulated, a convection heater might be the best way
to go.
